En avril 2013, la conversion au catholicisme de Fernando Casanova, pasteur pentec\u00f4tiste portoricain, avait d\u00e9fray\u00e9 la chronique latino am\u00e9ricaine. Depuis, il s\u2019est fait le z\u00e9l\u00e9 d\u00e9fenseur de l\u2019\u00c9glise avec sa stup\u00e9fiante ma\u00eetrise de la Bible et son style oratoire latin, passionn\u00e9 et chaleureux.<\/p>\n

Il raconte lui-m\u00eame son lent et douloureux processus de conversion au catholicisme : pas moins de cinq ans lui auront \u00e9t\u00e9 n\u00e9cessaires, apr\u00e8s bien des\u00a0ann\u00e9es de service au sein de son \u00e9glise protestante.<\/p>\n

Ce processus a d\u00e9but\u00e9 par sa recherche biblique d\u2019une \u00c9glise unique et unie fond\u00e9e par J\u00e9sus-Christ. Il \u00e9tait d\u00e9sorient\u00e9 par la prolif\u00e9ration continue d\u2019\u00c9glises et de groupes protestants. Mais son z\u00e8le dans cette qu\u00eate visait un seul et clair objectif\u00a0: \u00ab\u00a0Ne pas \u00eatre catholique.\u00a0\u00bb <\/i>Sauf que le coup de gr\u00e2ce de sa conversion a pr\u00e9cis\u00e9ment \u00e9t\u00e9 sa d\u00e9couverte de\u00a0l\u2019Eucharistie catholique.<\/p>\n

En prenant la d\u00e9cision de se convertir, il en informe sa femme qui, protestante convaincue, pr\u00e9f\u00e9ra la s\u00e9paration du couple. Fernando passe alors plusieurs mois sans vivre avec sa femme et ses trois enfants, crucifi\u00e9 par ce myst\u00e8re : pourquoi Dieu permet-il une telle souffrance alors que, apr\u00e8s tout, il suit maintenant le droit chemin\u00a0?<\/p>\n

Il raconte avec beaucoup d\u2019\u00e9motion comment il est un jour entr\u00e9 dans une chapelle pour chercher la force de Dieu au milieu de son malheur. Il aper\u00e7oit sur un banc de l\u2019\u00e9glise un chapelet. Il comprend que Dieu lui demande de le r\u00e9citer. Pour le jeune homme r\u00e9cemment converti, prier le chapelet reste difficile. Mais en regardant Marie, il lui dit qu\u2019il est pr\u00eat \u00e0 le faire et lui adresse deux demandes\u00a0: qu\u2019il puisse se r\u00e9concilier avec sa femme et que celle-ci ainsi que leurs enfants puissent entrer en pleine communion avec l\u2019\u00c9glise de son Fils.<\/p>\n

L\u2019ancien pasteur raconte alors\u00a0: \u00ab\u00a0J\u2019ai pri\u00e9 le chapelet maladroitement et sans foi, demandant pardon \u00e0 Dieu tous les dix <\/i>Je vous salue Marie au cas o\u00f9\u00a0ma fa\u00e7on de prier ne lui plaise pas.\u00a0<\/i>\u00bb Le jour m\u00eame, Fernando Casanova a pu voir sa famille et se r\u00e9concilier avec sa femme\u00a0!<\/p>\n

Un an jour pour jour apr\u00e8s ce \u00ab\u00a0rosaire mal r\u00e9cit\u00e9<\/i>\u00a0\u00bb, \u00e0 la cath\u00e9drale de Porto Rico la capitale, Fernando Casanova, son \u00e9pouse et ses enfants ont \u00e9t\u00e9 officiellement re\u00e7us dans l\u2019\u00c9glise catholique.<\/p>\n
